So, now that I'm thinking of doing this makeup gig more professionally (well, as much as I can after my "day job"), I decided to create a website to promote my work. Derek has subscribed mobile me which gives him a website along with the subscription. I'm going to try to convince him to let me use that for my website. Not sure how it works and how the domain name will be (since he's the subscriber). Anyways, if it doesn't work, then I'll just subscribe to my own. I think it's like $99 a year or something. I can also use it to store all my other files too. We'll see.
I used iWeb on my Mac to create my pages. It's so easy to use! All the templates are there and I can add my own pictures and create albums. I just have to think of what to say. I'm not good with words but at least it reflects me right? hahahah... Better check all my grammar and spelling before actually publishing it.
So, I've also been looking at craigslist.org for various gigs. I found two. One is to assist a makeup artist during a wedding this coming Saturday and the other one is for a makeup studio open house party next Friday. I've contacted both and I am going to meet the organizer of the makeup studio gig tomorrow in the city. I haven't heard anything about the wedding one yet. The wedding one is a paid gig. Although not much, it's definitely good for the experience. Hopefully, the MUA will contact me this week.

Updates & Dinair Trial
It's been a LONG time since I last blogged. It's been a little over 2 months and lots have happened. Here's just a quick list of what has happened (not in any particular order):
1. School is out!
2. Went through a 8 weeks makeup training course through Academy of Cosmetic Arts
3. Passed the BCLAD!
4. Got to keep my job - Thank you Cupertino parents for raising over $2.5 million to save all the teachers!
5. Worked on the filming of a short film as Makeup Artist
6. Started to work out again! I'm losing some weight, finally!
7. Went to IMATS in Pasadena. That will be another blog in the near future!
So, that's the basic updates of what has happened in the last couple months.
During IMATS, I purchased my very first airbrush system for makeup. Now that I have it, hopefully, that will be an added bonus when I finally start my own makeup business :) Hopefully it'll be sooner than later.
I purchased a Temptu airbrush system for the "business" and a Dinair system for my own personal use. I wanted to purchase the Dinair system on top of the Temptu because it was compact and I can just leave it in the bathroom/bedroom and use it for myself and for practices.
Today, I finally tried the Dinair system after returning from IMATS 3 days ago. It's just like me... to leave the luggage unpack until I need something. I'm surprise that I actually took something out just after three days! And yes, I have not technically unpack it (Just took the Dinair system out).
I'm very glad that I got the Dinair system. It's very user friendly and easy to assemble. For doing airbrush makeup on myself for the second time (First time in class), I think I did pretty good. The makeup looks even and very easy to apply. I've attached some pictures to further explain what I think about the system.
Dinair System
BEFORE FOUNDATION ~Look at the SHINE~
FOUNDATION Drk Golden Beige
AFTER 1 (ONE) LAYER OF FOUNDATION
I think after just one layer of foundation, it probably isn't enough. It did even out the colors of my face and toned down the freckles but it's lighter than what I normally like to wear my foundation.
AFTER 2 (TWO) LAYERS OF FOUNDATION
I like it SO much more after two layers of foundation! I even went in and covered out the redness around my nose and the pimple on my forehead. It's much easier that using foundation and the concealer. This is a one step system! Yay!
BLUSH
AFTER A LITTLE BLUSH ON THE CHEEKS AND EYELIDS
I don't see the blush, do you?
WITH A LITTLE BIT OF MAKEUP ~ FINISHED!
OK... I like the foundation and it's very easy to apply. The lush is just OK. I can't really see it. Maybe the shade I have is too light.
Overall, I am glad I got it and it's worth the $ I paid for. The only down side about the system is the cleaning. It's much more complicated and time consuming to clean the airbrush. But at the same time, it's much more sanitary. No more using old makeup sponges on myself over and over again.

What's next?
Lots has happened and it's been a while since I've been in the mood to blog. The latest is the all the news about the layoff in the district. It's not only happening in my district but all over the state. With the budget crisis, everyone is suffering. With this many teachers being laid off state wide, it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel - not just for school and the educational system but the whole economy for the state. This means hundreds if not thousands of teachers out of a job. This cannot possibly good for the economy with so many more people added to the total unemployment rate.
Well, I am one of those who have received the "pink slip". Not sure what exactly will happen to me since now I've just obtained the Science Authorization. It may help or not. I'm also trying to get the BCLAD authorization, thus the random Chinese Blog I've posted. The test is going to take place in about a month. I have to start study for it. I don't think I'll have much problem with the reading comprehension but the writing portion will just kill me. I'll have to try to write a daily journal or something to keep up with the writing part. Do some major cramming and see if that takes me anywhere... :)
OK... this is going to be a "below average" blog. Getting tired talking and thinking about this whole issue. Will have to move on to a better topic soon.
On the bright side, I did sign up to take Make-up artistry class that starts in little bit less than a month. Hopefully, I will learn something. I'll blog about that later. Maybe this will be another transition in my career. We'll see :)

18 years. That's how long we've been committed. We've been with each other 1/2 of our lives now. It's quite amazing what we've gone through in the last 18 year. There were good time and some bad times but the good times definitely out number the bad. I don't even know if there's a word that describes us. Love just seem too plain and simple. It's beyond just love. It's a connection that goes beyond the feelings and emotions.
We've faced some challenges in just the last year or so. We've faced the challenges head on and are adjusting to the changes that we are experiencing. It's a period of time that I need to be strong and believe in us. I'm certain we'll pull through this adjustment period like we always do. When we do, there would be nothing but true happiness for us.
Today, on a whim, we went for a drive. We visited two missions and ended up in Wine Country. We didn't have enough time to do some wine tasting but we did do some olive oil tasting. Bought two bottles of olive oil to commemorate out 18th anniversary. Wine country was so beautiful. The scenery and the town were beautiful and so serene. We'll be back to visit again. On our way back, we spotted this cloud formation that looked like two people kissing. What a great way to end our trip on our special day!
